For the Cellar Selection, emphasis is placed on the quality of the fruit and on the minimal handling resulting in elegant, aromatic wines that are well associated with culinary dishes - the so-called "Food Friendly" wines that are versatile! Winemakers have carefully produced this wine using light (mild) techniques, resulting in a stylish and classic Pinot Noir. Fruity and full-bodied, it is an intense, complex and generous wine. Food pairing: It is recommended to serve alongside beef chicken, potato gratin, Coq au vin Pinot Noi, Bourguignon Boeuf, pike in Pinot noir .

The Winery

In 1961, la doar 21 de ani, George Fistonich a inchiriat 5 hectare de teren de la tatal sau Mangere, in Auckland si a inceput cu doar un hectar de vita de vie. A recoltat primii struguri in 1962 si a facut primul vin sub numele de Villa Maria. De-a lungul anilor, Villa Maria era reprezentata doar de George si sotia sa, Gail, care l-a sprijinit in aventura lui, iar la inceputul anilor ‘70 compania a inceput sa se dezvolte rapid. Astazi, Villa Maria are mai mult de 250 de angajati permanenti si exporta in peste 50 de tari din intreaga lume. In 1995 Villa Maria a devenit un membru acreditat la Sustainable Winegrowing New Zeeland (SWNZ).
